Championship Boxer Edwin Valerio commits suicide; How to prevent abuse

World Championship Venezuelan boxer Edwin Valerio was found dead in a jail cell after he had been detained for murdering his wife.

The boxer was arrested after police officers found the body of his 24-year-old wife Jennifer Viera in a hotel in the city of Valencia.

He apparently had a history of abuse against his wife and tracked her down after she fled and beat her to death.

This is why any sign of abuse needs to be reported as soon as it happens before it is too late.  The more the abuse is allowed, the harder it is to get out of a relationship and the more likely something terrible will happen if you leave.  Don't allow it to get that bad.  Remember, you a better than a person that raises their hand to hit you or who talks down to you.  For signs of abuse, click here or visit the website www.ndvh.org or call 1−800−799−SAFE(7233).
