Ke$ha, Vince Gill and others doing their part in floods

The public support for the Tennessee floods has increased over the past few days.

Vince Gill is, of course, ahead of the curve — he’s hosting a local telethon on Nashville’s WSMV-TV tonight — but with much of Music City still stuck in the muck, the good samaritan work is just beginning.

Great American Country Television (a.k.a. GAC) has announced a live national telethon on May 16 at the historic Ryman Auditorium to benefit the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, an organization that’s already on the scene helping out. Brad Paisley, Lady Antebellum, Dierks Bentley, and Rodney Atkins are already scheduled to perform, and more acts are sure to be added as we get closer to the date. The telethon will air commercial free from 8 p.m. – 10 p.m.

But you don’t have to be a country fan to get in on the action: Party-pop star and Nashville native Ke$ha is putting on a benefit concert June 16th at the Limelight in her hometown, with 100 percent of the profits going to relief for humans as well as animals. Tickets for the show are on sale now.
