R&B crooner Trey Songz known for his hit "Say Aah' spoke with Vibe magazine and made comments about R&B legend R. Kelly that were not flattering. He has recently drawn comparisons to R. Kelly in his music and had this to say about it,
"People say, 'Well, I hear a lot of R. Kelly in your music.' So what?," He goes onto say "R. Kelly took Aaron Hall's whole style. Two albums straight. ... You can say what you want about me."
R. Kelly has had a lengthy and successful career. Is imitation necessarily a bad thing in music? I under Trey Songz trying to carve out his own name in music, but does he have to diss R. Kelly in order to do it? We should never have to badmouth other people in order to gain more glory for ourselves. Maybe accepting that we are all similar in our own ways will help us in the long run. What do you think of this?
