Actress Heather Locklear was arrested for a misdemeanor hit-and-run Saturday morning near hear gated-community home. She allegedly hit a no-parking sign on a public street. Ventura County Sherrifs found the debris from her car traced it back to her.
"While Locklear was technically arrested, she was not handcuffed or taken to a station because it was just a misdemeanor charge," Bonfiglio says. "She was cooperative, but I can't give any information about any statements she made. She was cited and released. She signed a document stating she would make a court appearance."
Residents reported the accident after hearing a loud crash at 4 am.
Locklear is currently on probation steming from a DUI she received back in 2008, so she could face up to 90 days in jail after this current violation.
All hit-and-runs should be reported. If found, you could face misdemeanor charges and it is also common courtesy to report these things. In some states, it is a felony if death or bodily injuries occur. You may thing it is not a big thing, but it can grow ugly quickly if it is traced back to you.
