So everybody knows that Comedy Central decided to censor the Muhammad out of all of 'South Park' episodes after it was threatened by Islamic extremists for depicting Muhammad in a bear suit.
Having already caused a fuss this spring with the depiction of the prophet Muhammad on 'South Park,' Comedy Central revealed it has a cartoon series about Jesus Christ in the works.
'JC' is one of 23 potential series the network said it has in development. It depicts Christ as a "regular guy" who moves to New York to "escape his father's enormous shadow."
It wouldn't be the first time Jesus Christ has been on a Comedy Central cartoon; he's a recurring character on the long-running 'South Park.'
The show presents Jesus' father as an apathetic man who would rather play video games than listen to his son talk about his new life, according to Comedy Central's thumbnail sketch of the idea. Reveille, the production company behind 'The Office,' 'Ugly Betty' and 'The Biggest Loser,' is making 'JC.'
So Muhammad gets censored out of every episode , but they are considering a comedy series about Jesus Christ. Doesn't that just wreak of hypocrisy. Since when did everybody become so sensitive in this country. Muhammad has been satire in previous episodes, but as soon as they feel a little heat, they want to back off. Artistry is one of the few purest things we have left in this country, and now that is starting to be stripped away. Had Comedy Central had some balls, and went through with the episode, it would have been a bold statement that said NOTHING or NOBODY is above anybody else in this world and should be given the same treatment when it comes to satire and freedom of speech. Instead they decided to cower and take the safe route.
